Behind Every Big Win Is the Right Partnership

For years, entrepreneurship has celebrated the idea of the self-made success story. The founder who built it alone. The CEO who outworked everyone else. The company that won by beating the competition.
But some of the biggest opportunities in business aren't won alone. They're won through strategic collaboration. Something we know at KNOW.
The power of collaboration was on full display when Destination Must Visit® Tourism Alliance Incorporated (a women-led organization founded by Elite Woman to KNOW, Carolyn Howell) was awarded a $2.4 million Destination Marketing Organization contract by the City of College Park, Georgia. But she didnt just WIN, she received the highest evaluation score among several established industry firms! The contract will support tourism growth, hospitality businesses, destination marketing, and economic development for one of metro Atlanta's most important visitor hubs.
But what stood out to us wasn't just the contract. It was how they won it.
The Future of Business Isn't Going It Alone
Instead of building another traditional agency model, Destination Must Visit® Tourism Alliance was designed around something government contracting has embraced for years: strategic teaming. Rather than trying to be everything under one roof, the organization assembled a collaborative network of experts. It's a philosophy that closely mirrors what we believe at KNOW. We don't strive to be the expert in every discipline. Instead, we believe the greatest value comes from connecting ambitious women to the right people, the right expertise, and the right opportunities. Because no single leader has every answer, but the right network often does.
A Lesson Beyond Government Contracting
While teaming has long been a best practice in government contracting, the mindset applies to every industry. Whether you're building a consulting firm, a healthcare company, a marketing agency, or a technology startup, asking "Who could we build this with?" may be a more valuable question than "How can I do this myself?"
The strongest businesses aren't always the ones with the biggest teams. They're the ones that know how to build the right partnerships.
A Win Worth Celebrating
At KNOW, we believe success grows faster in the right rooms. Sometimes those rooms introduce your next client. Sometimes they introduce your next mentor. And sometimes they introduce the partner who helps you pursue opportunities you couldn't have won alone.
Congratulations to Carolyn Howell, her team at Destination Must Visit® Tourism Alliance, and everyone involved in this remarkable achievement. Howell is joined by Amber Batchelor, Women to KNOW in Georgia honoree and Head of Tourism Operations.
Their $2.4 million contract is certainly worth celebrating. But perhaps the bigger story is what it represents: a powerful reminder that collaboration isn't just good leadership. It's good business.
